Eastern Macedonia
Eastern Macedonia forms the eastern part of the historical and geographical region of Macedonia in Northern Greece. Today, it is administratively merged with Western Thrace into the official Greek periphery (region) of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace. The region is known for a rich mix of Greek Orthodox and Islamic cultures, impressive archaeological sites, mountain ranges, and pristine coastlines.
Central Macedonia
Central Macedonia (Greek: Περιφέρεια Κεντρικής Μακεδονίας) is one of the 13 administrative regions of Greece. With a population of nearly 1.9 million inhabitants, it is the second most populous region in the country, right after Attica. The region forms the heart of historical and geographical Greek Macedonia, offering a rich blend of archaeological sites, pristine nature, and bustling cities.
Western Macedonia
Western Macedonia (Greek: Δυτική Μακεδονία) is one of the thirteen administrative regions of Greece and is located in the northwestern part of the Greek mainland. It is the only Greek region that is completely landlocked and therefore has no direct access to the sea. The capital and largest city of the region is Kozani.
